The “Background” section controls the appearance of the playback screen behind the main image. Obviously if the main image fills the available screen space, then no background image will appear. This feature is useful if a single background/image is required to appear behind every image in a show.

The “Sharpness control” section provides a means of affecting the global sharpness of project images. The higher the setting, the more artifacts in animation will appear. The suggested setting for this control is to accept the default value of “None”. Other suggested settings for projects with static or animated images are suggested.

The “Screen and slide” section controls whether the show is shown in a fullscreen window or in a smaller window. In “Fullscreen” mode the virtual size of slide can be determined. Note that the initial values for “virtual size of slide” are determined by the choice of aspect ratio in the “Main” tab. In “Windowed” mode, the dimensions of the window can be defined. In “Fullscreen” mode, the “non-exclusive fullscreen mode checkbox should be used if a “Run application” command is used in the slideshow. Unchecking this function may increase performance, but only in WinXP or Win7/Vista without Aero. For Win7 or Vista with Aero, this function is irrelevant, since with these platforms fullscreen is always non-exclusive. Generally it is recommended that this option is not selected. The function “Color outside slide area” only affects those areas of the actual display device which are outside the image area. Thus if a color is specified here, it will only show when the show is previewed ; it will not show on the “slide list”, “mini player” or “Objects and Animation” editor.
